Anastasis: Brutal Forms is a powerful exploration of rebirth, resilience, and transformation through strength and tension. The word anastasis, meaning rising or resurrection, gives the work a sense of emergence from hardship, while “brutal forms” suggests raw structure, force, and uncompromising presence. Through the richness of oil paint and the circular format, the composition evokes cycles of destruction and renewal, where difficult experiences become part of rebuilding and becoming. The artwork invites viewers to reflect on endurance, transformation, and the strength required to rise again.
