
Pancho Piano
Completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics at the University of Nueva Caceres (1978) and pursued a degree in Fine Arts at the University of the Philippines Diliman as a Jose Joya Scholar (1984-1987). The initial Filipino artist to showcase Leather Art in the Philippines, Pancho has created multiple murals and stained glass designs for civic and religious clients in several cities and towns across the Bicol region, including Naga City, Daraga, Guinobatan, Camalig, Polangui, Ligao, Pio Duran, Sto. Domingo, Legaspi City, Tabaco City, and Boracay; in Pampanga, Quezon City, Mandaluyong City, Pasig City, Caloocan City, and the Mindanao area; along with Japan, Saipan, and Palau.
Pancho’s artwork and stained glass creations emphasize Bicolano myths and traditions, particularly the Bicolano reverence for the Lady Peñafrancia. He has held over thirty solo exhibitions and taken part in more than 50 group exhibitions across the Philippines, Japan, Saipan, the USA, France, Austria, Germany, Belgium, Italy, and Switzerland
