Sofia Martinez is a young Filipino student-artist known for her soft tones and expressive use of color. Her early works reflect a sense of wonder and emotional depth. She first entered the art scene through Grupo Estilo’s second group exhibition titled Isang Pagpupugay. In this show, she exhibited alongside established artists such as Alpha Larracas, Pedro Felix Garcia II, Felix Amoncio, Maia Magpantay, Pit Monton, Kristoffer Tolentino, Bong Ducat, and Henri Cainglet.
She later joined another exhibition, Likha at Biyaya, which focused on the theme of harvest. This experience allowed her to explore both creative boundaries and artistic possibilities. Through her work, she continues to develop a non-literal and expressive approach to art.
Sofia works with oil and acrylic and has been painting since childhood. She draws strong inspiration from her parents. Her father, the late Jun Martinez, was a respected impressionist known for bold brushstrokes. Her mother, Alpha Larracas, is also a recognized artist with a distinct and imaginative style. Their influence continues to shape her artistic journey.
Currently, Sofia studies in the Painting Program at the University of Santo Tomas, College of Fine Arts and Design. Alongside visual art, she also explores music and writing as part of her creative growth.
