Anthony Escueta, at an early age, Anthony y( b. 1989) of Padre Garcia, Batangas already had a penchant for art but could not afford to have supplies in order for him to hone his skills. He would literally draw on sand in order for him to express his creativity then. The son of a farmer, Escueta is a newly- minted licensed teacher apart from being a dedicated artist. His training in art starred as an
apprenticeship under Joseph Albao where they did a number of collaborations including backstage designs for television shows. On that year he also joined his first group exhibit at the Adamson University with the
beginners luck his paintings sold out. The guryon (kite) painting that he did at the start of his career is his known signature. The colorful and abstract
representations of these kites were expressions and another aspect of his childhood where literally had to create his own toy in order for him to play as his parents were not able to afford a ready made one being sold in stores. Another toy he would normally use for this paintings are those inspired Lego Figures. These painting reminisce of the late Larry Alcala’s “Slice of Life” series where he would depicts everyday scenes in Filipino communities. In the case of Escueta, he integrates social commentaries to the otherwise playful and colorful depictions of Pinoy society which
provide deeper meaning of his oeuvres. As of now he is one of the co-founder of Vice Versa
Artists Group and Chroma Garcia Artists Group. He counts as clients many film and television directors and even actors and actresses in the country. At present, Escueta is steadily establishing a name in the local art scene and beyond.
