Jhon Lhoyd Escueta a young and rising artist from Padre Garcia, Batangas, is making waves in the local art scene with works that speak volumes about society, culture, and change. He proudly represented the CALABARZON region in the 2023 National Festival of Talents (Pintahusay) held inย Cagayan de Oro, showcasing not just skill-but soul.
Since stepping into the world of painting in 2020, Jhon Lhoyd has been unstoppable-holding exhibits in major venues like Luzon Art Fair, Gateway Art Fair, Robinson’s Galleria, and the Philippine Heart Center. His powerful, story-driven artworks have even caught the eye of Abante, the Philippines’ leading tabloid. Today, he is also recognized as one of the artists of Galerie Francesca, further cementing his place in the contemporary art scene.
Beyond galleries, Jhon Lhoyd actively participates in various “Art for a Cause” initiatives, using his talent to support community efforts. He also serves as President of the Chroma Garcia Artist Group in Padre Garcia, Batangas in the year 2024, under the mentorship of renowned artist Joseph Albao.
A former editorial cartoonist, Jhon Lhoyd began drawing as a way to speak truth to power. Today, his works still carry that voice-bold, sincere, and unapologetically real. His awards speak for themselves: multiple Pintahusay championships, recognition as Artist of the Year, and top honors in regional and national art competitions.
