
Rebie Abas is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication who began her career as a Radio Newscaster. However, her professional journey took an inspiring turn away from media. Exploring various fields, she embraced the opportunity to design a house, uncovering her latent talent in the arts. This pivotal moment ignited her passion for home design and construction. It was during this time that she fell in love with painting, realizing her artistic calling while mixing wall paint colors for a house she designed and built.
Renowned for her captivating paintings of falling leaves, Rebie draws inspiration from films, stories, poems, and especially music. Her artwork tells profound stories, evoking memories and emotions akin to a still theater performance or a memorable movie scene. As a proud Bulakenya, her poetic sensibility enriches every piece.
She captures movement and life with her own eyes, An impressionist artist who longs for people to see and feel the story behind her every painting.
She has participated in prestigious exhibitions throughout the Philippines, as well as in Malaysia, Singapore, France, Turkey, South Korea, New Jersey, and New York. She has been featured in art magazines and books in the Philippines and South Korea. She has joined notable exhibitions such as the Visayan Art Fest and Manila Art. Her artworks are showcased in some of the most sought-after galleries, including Daloy Likha, Nami Art Gallery, Visual Central Art Gallery, and VAM International Gallery. A significant milestone in her career was her recent successful solo art show in Singapore, titled “Timeless.”
