Rebie Abas is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication who began her career as a Radio Newscaster. However, her professional journey took an inspiring turn away from media. Exploring various fields, she embraced the opportunity to design a house, uncovering her latent talent in the arts. This pivotal moment ignited her passion for home design and construction. It was during this time that she fell in love with painting, realizing her artistic calling while mixing wall paint colors for a house she designed and built. Renowned for her captivating paintings of falling leaves, Rebie draws inspiration from films, stories, poems, and especially music. Her artwork tells profound stories, evoking memories and emotions akin to a still theater performance or a memorable movie scene. As a proud Bulakenya, her poetic sensibility enriches every piece. She captures movement and life with her own eyes, An impressionist artist who longs for people to see and feel the story behind her every painting. She has participated in prestigious exhibitions throughout the Philippines, as well as in Malaysia, Singapore, France, Turkey, South Korea, New Jersey, and New York. She has been featured in art magazines and books in the Philippines and South Korea. She has joined notable exhibitions such as the Visayan Art Fest and Manila Art. Her artworks are showcased in some of the most sought-after galleries, including Daloy Likha, Nami Art Gallery, Visual Central Art Gallery, and VAM International Gallery. Richard Perez

Richard Perez is a visual artist from Naga City, Camarines Sur. He specializes in mixed media, combining threads and acrylic in his paintings. His works often feature textured impressionistic landscapes, while some explore abstract styles. For four years, he worked as an in-house artist at Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar. After that, he returned to Bicol and began conducting art workshops and tutorials, especially during summer. In addition, he created commissioned wall murals in Naga City and in Agusan del Norte, Mindanao. Throughout his career, he has participated in numerous exhibitions. Since 1994, he has joined more than 50 group exhibitions in the Bicol region. He has also taken part in nearly 30 group shows in Metro Manila. Alongside these, he has held a total of six solo exhibitions in Manila. Roen Capule is a distinguished Filipino sculptor and visual artist based in Bulacan. He is widely recognized for blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary artistic expression. Through his works—ranging from sculptures to monumental public artworks—he explores themes of nature, transformation, and the human experience. Moreover, his passion for mountaineering strongly influences his art. Because of this, his works capture the intricate beauty of life and the natural world. As a result, his creations reflect both strength and sensitivity. With decades of experience, Capule has exhibited in numerous solo and group shows both locally and internationally. In addition, his works have appeared in television shows and films. Therefore, he continues to showcase his versatility as an artist. Furthermore, he is widely known for his commissioned works, which include: Bust sculptures Monumental public artworks Custom trophies for major events and festivals At the same time, these works highlight his technical skill and creative vision. In 2025, he received the Dangal ng Lipi ng Bulacan sa Larangan ng Sining at Kultura. This award is the highest honor given by the Province of Bulacan. As a result, it recognizes his outstanding contributions to art and cultural heritage. International Exhibitions Capule has participated in several international exhibitions. Romulo Olazo

Romulo Olazo was born in 1934 in Balayan, Batangas, Philippines. After his father passed away when he was four, his mother raised him. Later, in 1951, he moved to Manila to find work and pursue new opportunities. By 1959, he enrolled at the University of Santo Tomas in the Department of Fine Arts. At that time, the university served as a center for the modernist movement. There, he trained under Victorio Edades and Diosdado Lorenzo. In addition, he studied alongside emerging artists such as Ang Kiukok, Elizabeth Cheng, and Ong Bungian. Early Career and Advertising Work After finishing his studies, Olazo entered the advertising industry. However, he continued painting and printmaking at the same time. Because of his dedication, he joined exhibitions organized by the Art Association of the Philippines and other galleries. During the day, he worked as an illustrator for Oriental Komiks and Tagalog Klasiks. Later on, he became art director for the Philippine Advertising Counselors. Meanwhile, he spent his evenings creating paintings and prints, further developing his style. Personal Life and Artistic Development While working as an art director, he met Patricia Tria, whom he married in 1966. Over the years, he credited much of his success to her support. Together, they raised three children: Noelle, Jill, and Jonathan. In the 1970s, his focus shifted entirely to printmaking. As a result, he began receiving awards and recognition. In 1972, the Cultural Center of the Philippines named him one of the Thirteen Artists. At the same time, he built his own studio at home called “101 Workshop.” There, he welcomed fellow artists such as Roberto Chabet and Fernando Modesto. Because of this, the space became a hub for collaboration and creativity. International Recognition and Major Works In 1973, Olazo participated in the XII Biennial in São Paulo, Brazil. During this event, he exhibited his Diaphanous series. This collection featured transparent layers and soft color interactions. As a result, it gained strong recognition in the art world. Later, in 1979, he received an honorable mention at the 11th Biennial of Prints in Tokyo. His Permutation series introduced an x-ray-like visual effect. Moreover, it continued his exploration of lightness and monochromatic tones. Artistic Influence and Exhibitions Olazo’s abstract and non-objective works helped shape the second generation of modernist art in the Philippines. Because of this influence, galleries such as Luz Gallery and Finale Art File frequently showcased his work. In 1981, critics named him one of the Philippines’ “Five Outstanding Living Artists.” Consequently, he stood alongside Napoleon Abueva, Arturo Luz, Cesar Legaspi, and Ang Kiukok. By 1983, he joined the exhibition Four Masters: Four Worlds at Sunvar Plaza in Makati. The show included Ang Kiukok, Cesar Legaspi, and Malang. Due to its success, it continued as an annual exhibition for ten years. Later Years and Legacy Despite facing health challenges later in life, Olazo continued creating art. Even with a pacemaker and limited mobility, he remained active in his practice. In the 2000s, he produced some of his largest Diaphanous works using silkscreen and paint. In 2009, Ayala Museum and Paseo Gallery presented a retrospective of his work. This exhibition highlighted over 40 years of his artistic journey. By 2012, Bluewater Gallery in Mactan, Cebu, hosted his 40th solo exhibition titled Diaphanous by the Sea. This collection reflected ocean-inspired themes and memories of his childhood. In addition to his own success, he took pride in his son Jonathan, who followed his path in the arts. Jonathan later became curator of the ManilArt Fair and received the Thirteen Artists Award. On August 18, 2015, Romulo Olazo passed away at the age of 81. Nevertheless, he left behind a powerful legacy. His work continues to inspire future generations. Through his imagination and dedication, he helped redefine printmaking in the Philippines.

Ron De Torres is a visionary artist who explores the essence of human existence. His works reflect the depth and complexity of human experiences. With strong dedication to his craft, Ron has earned recognition in several prestigious competitions. He became Champion at the 71st Kabakahan Festival Art Competition in 2020. In 2022, he was a Finalist at the Manila Bulletin Sketchfest. In 2023, he received the Juror’s Choice Award at the 7th Kanlahi Tarlac National Art Competition. That same year, his SOLD OUT PGH Auction collection marked a major milestone in his career. Ron has participated in several notable exhibitions across the Philippines. These include the Luzon Art Fair, DANGAL Art Exhibit, and Purity of HeART at the Philippine Heart Center. He also joined the Visayas Art Fair in Cebu City and the GSIS La Arte Filipina exhibit in Pasay. This special exhibit celebrated Women’s Month. His first solo exhibition, BAHAGHARI, was held at the Philippine Heart Center. The show was a complete success, with all artworks SOLD OUT. This achievement further strengthened his presence in the contemporary art scene. Ron is also a featured artist in the BINTANA Art Book: Batangas Art Through the Eyes of 149 Visual Artists. This publication highlights the diverse talents from his home province. Despite his success, Ron remains humble and grounded. He continues to share his knowledge and inspire aspiring artists. Through his generosity, he helps uplift others in the creative community.

Salvador Ching

Salvador J. Ching is a graduate of the University of Santo Tomas, where he earned a degree in Fine Arts, major in Painting. Throughout his career, he has represented the Philippines in various international symposiums, workshops, and exhibitions. As a result, he has established a strong presence both locally and globally. Moreover, he has held 16 solo exhibitions. In addition, he has received numerous awards and citations in major art competitions across the country. Because of this, he is recognized as a respected figure in the Philippine art scene. Awards and Recognition Ching has earned several prestigious awards throughout his career. Notably, his selected citations include: 2024 – Kislap ng Sining ng Bulacan Award, Bulacan Provincial Capitol 2023 – Distinguished Thomasian Alumni Award, UST Campus, Manila 2023 – Outstanding UST Atelier Alumni, UST Alumni Center, España, Manila 2015 – Dangal ng Lipi Award for Visual Arts, Bulacan Provincial Capitol 2014 – Metrobank Foundation Award for Continuing Excellence Service 2012 – “Bayani at Bituin ng Malolos” Award for Visual Arts, Malolos City 2011 – Gawad Pagkilala sa Sining at Kultura sa Sining Biswal, Bulacan 1998 – Gintong Kabataan Award for the Arts, Malolos, Bulacan 1998 – C.O.Y.A Award (Community Outstanding Young Achiever), Malolos Jaycees Furthermore, these recognitions highlight his long-standing contribution to the arts. Leadership and Affiliations In addition to his artistic achievements, Ching actively contributes to the art community. For instance, he is a co-founder of Bahaghari ng Malolos. He has also held leadership roles, including: Former Vice President, Art Association of the Philippines Former Vice President, Lakan Sining ng Bulacan President, The Saturday Group of Artists (2024–2026) Moreover, he is a member of the Association of Pinoy Printmakers. At the same time, he serves as an Executive Committee Member of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) – Committee on Visual Arts (2023–2025). Artistic Practice Today, Ching works as a full-time, multi-awarded painter, installation artist, and performance artist. Through his diverse practice, he continues to explore new forms of artistic expression. Ultimately, his work reflects both his experience and his commitment to the advancement of Philippine art.
