Ron De Torres

Ron De Torres is a visionary artist who explores the essence of human existence. His works reflect the depth and complexity of human experiences. Through his unique perspective, he tells stories of resilience, healing, and personal growth. His art captures both the beauty and struggles of life through powerful visual narratives. With strong dedication to his craft, Ron has earned recognition in several prestigious competitions. He became Champion at the 71st Kabakahan Festival Art Competition in 2020. In 2022, he was a Finalist at the Manila Bulletin Sketchfest. In 2023, he received the Juror’s Choice Award at the 7th Kanlahi Tarlac National Art Competition. That same year, his SOLD OUT PGH Auction collection marked a major milestone in his career. Ron has participated in several notable exhibitions across the Philippines. These include the Luzon Art Fair, DANGAL Art Exhibit, and Purity of HeART at the Philippine Heart Center. He also joined the Visayas Art Fair in Cebu City and the GSIS La Arte Filipina exhibit in Pasay. This special exhibit celebrated Women’s Month. His first solo exhibition, BAHAGHARI, was held at the Philippine Heart Center. The show was a complete success, with all artworks SOLD OUT. This achievement further strengthened his presence in the contemporary art scene. Ron is also a featured artist in the BINTANA Art Book: Batangas Art Through the Eyes of 149 Visual Artists. This publication highlights the diverse talents from his home province. Despite his success, Ron remains humble and grounded. He continues to share his knowledge and inspire aspiring artists. Through his generosity, he helps uplift others in the creative community.

Sofia Martinez

Sofia Martinez is a young Filipino student-artist known for her soft tones and expressive use of color. Her early works reflect a sense of wonder and emotional depth. She first entered the art scene through Grupo Estilo’s second group exhibition titled Isang Pagpupugay. In this show, she exhibited alongside established artists such as Alpha Larracas, Pedro Felix Garcia II, Felix Amoncio, Maia Magpantay, Pit Monton, Kristoffer Tolentino, Bong Ducat, and Henri Cainglet. She later joined another exhibition, Likha at Biyaya, which focused on the theme of harvest. This experience allowed her to explore both creative boundaries and artistic possibilities. Through her work, she continues to develop a non-literal and expressive approach to art. Sofia works with oil and acrylic and has been painting since childhood. She draws strong inspiration from her parents. Her father, the late Jun Martinez, was a respected impressionist known for bold brushstrokes. Her mother, Alpha Larracas, is also a recognized artist with a distinct and imaginative style. Their influence continues to shape her artistic journey. Currently, Sofia studies in the Painting Program at the University of Santo Tomas, College of Fine Arts and Design. Darwin Peña

Darwin Peña A self-taught artist who has been creating since 2006. His works translate poetry into visual form, projecting the images of the poems he writes. From the beginning, abstraction has served as the grid of his expression. He started working in black and white using dermatograph pens, later progressing to oil pastels. Currently, he works primarily with acrylic paint, a medium he has grown comfortable with and continues to explore. He describes his body of work as “Abstractunes”—a term he personally coined—where each artwork is inseparable from the poem that accompanies it. He also marks a significant milestone in his career with his first-ever solo exhibition at Historia Art, titled Hapag Kainan. The exhibition presents a compelling body of work that reflects his artistic voice, offering a thoughtful exploration of themes grounded in culture, memory, and everyday life.

Nilo Badajos

Nilo Badajos

Nilo Badajos was born on July 15, 1962, in Cavite City. He is a figurative painter who currently resides in Hagonoy, Bulacan. He trained under Romulo Galicano, a master of figurative expressionism. Through this mentorship, Badajos developed his own technique. He focused on mastering the human figure using light and shadow in an effective way. Later in his career, he received a commission to paint portraits of the presidents of De La Salle University. These portraits are now displayed in the university’s museum. Some of his notable works also include portraits of the Philippine Secretary of Health, Dr. Francisco Duque, and his family.

Art Arreglado

Art Arreglado A visual artist and designer. His paintings center on “neon abstractions,” dynamic linear compositions using vibrant colors that radiate from the canvas. His works are a delicate interplay between light and dark, weaving linear forms into narratives about chaos and order, exploring the balance between structure and spontaneity. For his works, he has been a Finalist for consecutive years (2021-2024) at the annual GSIS Art Competition in Non-Representational Painting, earning an Honorable Mention in 2022. Art graduated with a degree in Architecture from the University of the Philippines-Diliman. He also studied Visual Arts at the Philippine High School for the Arts in Mt. Makiling, Los Baños, Laguna. He is also a member of the Anino Shadowplay Collective, a multidisciplinary group specializing in shadowplay performances and installations.
